Offertory Counters
Counting.jpg

Within the parish of the Durham Martyrs, there are 7 groups who take turns to count the money collected at each weekend mass. In addition to the loose plate, they also account for the Gift Aid, 2nd Collections and other income streams such as Fair Trade, Piety stall, Candles, Papers etc. To help facilitate this a system has been devised which allows each income stream to be counted and then checked by a different person before it is entered on the master recording sheet. We work in teams of 3 and each team is scheduled to count once every 7 weeks.  The count takes place in the Don Bosco room at St Joseph's on either Sunday after 11:00 am mass or on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. New members are always welcome to help with this very important task.   If you are interested please contact  the Parish Office .
