Our next walk will be a lovely figure of eight circular walk at Pittington, led by Ian Baillie and will take place on Saturday 21st May.
The first part of the walk will take us over Pittington Hill which is a site of special scientific interest and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The second part of the walk takes us through farmland and wooded lanes and is on good footpaths. The total distance is approximately 5 miles and we will end at Hallgarth Manor for refreshments and / or food.
The walk starts at 10am at the entrance to Pittington Village Hall (DH6 1AN). Parking is available along the main road. Please do try to park at the Village Hall as it is booked out for an event.
It would be very helpful if you could let Marjorie know if you plan to join us so that we know who to expect.
Advance notice – our June Walk will take place on 18th June and will be a coastal walk at South Shields following the route of the 7k ‘Memory Walk’ which many of you will be familiar with. Commencing at 10.30am at the entrance to Bents Park South Shields. – more info to follow.
