Saint Bede

673 - Born

680 - Bede enters the monastery at Wearmouth

681 - St. Paul’s monastery at Jarrow founded. Bede and Ceolfrith (the warden of Bede) among its founding members

686 - Plague year when Jarrow and Wearmouth are badly affected.

692 - Bede ordained deacon by Bishop John of Hexham

703 - Bede ordained priest by Bishop John

716 - Ceolfrith dies at Langres on his way to Rome

721 - Bede completes his prose Life of Cuthbert

Bede completes his History of the English Church and People

735 - Death of Bede 25th May.
