Thought from Fr. Colm - 16th December

I certainly hope and pray that this cold snap isn’t dampening the spirits of the Season of Hope. And cold it is. Christmas seems distinctly different this year, with an air of darkness that many of the older generation say has not been with us for a long time. Perhaps that makes our appreciation of the message of light that bit more powerful. The coming together as Community is always that marvellous collective expression of light when we gather, sometimes anonymously, to share the joy of Christ’s Light in the menacing darkness that pervades us. Do join us as a collective body of one parish at St. Leonard’s. Yes, we have more than one priest this year. Yes, we could have Christmas Masses in our two churches, but we are now one parish and rarely do we have the opportunity to express that Oneness in worship except at Easter and Christmas. I take this opportunity to wish you a light filled Christmas.
