Thought from Fr. Colm - 17/06/22

A big weekend for the Eucharist. Besides our own Mass attendance, we have the second of our First Holy Communion Celebrations this Saturday at St. Godric’s. Last Saturday saw St. Joseph’s and St. Thomas More schools’ children receive for the first time. The gathering was lower key than in the past and this made for a more powerful celebration. It was very special, which I have no doubt this Saturday will be too. Again, a big thank you to all who made it so. As it’s the Feast of Corpus Christi this weekend, can I invite all Ministers of the Eucharist to renew their commitment at all Masses. A special thank you to you for your great support. Ushaw College hosts the conclusion to the Year of the Eucharist, which I am sure many of you have booked in for. “Only when we recognise the rich network of connections between the Eucharist and our life in the world can the Eucharist be ‘worldly’ and our life ‘Eucharistic’ Henri Nouwen
