Welcomers

You will receive a warm welcome to the Parish of the Durham Martyrs from our friendly Hospitality and Welcome teams. Please stay and join us for refreshments when available, to meet and chat with fellow parishioners.  If you are new to the Parish, please take and complete one of the registration forms and pass to one of our Hospitality and Welcome team members in the envelope provided.

Welcome to our Parish!

"All are welcome in this place"

Welcomers open the church before a service and deal with any items which need attention including

- Opening of main doors

- Switching lights and heating on as necessary

- Lighting of votive candles

- Setting the timer for the car park lights at St Joseph’s

- Putting bulletins out

- Checking that there is sufficient sanitiser available

They welcome parishioners to the service and can help with any questions. After the service they check that the benches are tidy, switch off the heating and lights and then lock the church doors
